Opera Blocks is a short, live, interactive performance series created by Cape Town Opera for children aged 0–5. Designed with early childhood development in mind, the programme combines music, movement, and sensory play to support cognitive, emotional, and motor skill growth in infants and toddlers. Each session introduces key elements of theatre—such as voice, rhythm, and expression—through age-appropriate storytelling and engagement using operatic repertoire. Presented in theatres and community spaces, Opera Blocks aims to make opera a playful and enriching experience for young children during their most formative years.
